Winning twelve Latin Grammy Awards, two Latin Billboard Music Awards, two Grammy awards and selling over 30 million records worldwide, Guerra has had a meteoric rise, becoming one of the most internationally renowned Latin artists of recent years. Juan Luis Guerra graduated from Berklee with a degree in jazz composition. Moving back to the Dominican Republic, his next four albums became more and more well recognized, and in 1990, he earned his first Grammy award. From there, Guerra has collaborated with artists such as Enrique Iglesias to produce #1 singles and was named UNESCO Artist for Peace because of his presence in humanitarian efforts.
