Cloud Tree Studios & Gallery is located in east Austin in a vintage quonset hut built in 1948.
It is home to wood artist, Brian David Johnson, jewelry designer
and urban beekeeper, Anna Gieselman, artists Lucas Aoki and Lydia Garcia.
Cloud Tree is the realization of a long held dream of artist Brian David Johnson. Along with the help of his sister Laura Johnson, in the beginning of 2016 Brian remodeled the building, re-located his workshop of 13 years and established the gallery space with lofted studios above. The namesake for the space is the canopy of a tree that floats out over east 5th nearby, long admired by Brian and dubbed the cloud tree. The space aspires to be a special location and warm gathering place to not only showcase great work, but provide an affordable venue for openings, gatherings and other celebrations. In addition to hosting many events throughout the year, in November Cloud Tree will be a vibrant part of the annual East Austin Studio Tour hosting multiple artists to be announced.
